Its on again! The second annual Quilt Festival hosted by the lovely Amy from Park City Girl. I played along last year, my name is on the list, but I have trawled back through my blog and I can't find the post! Odd... so I can't remember last years favorite quilt! *edited to add 24 hours later..... Thanks Kit! For some reason I was looking in last years posts, not earlier this year. doh! So for the record, this was the quilt I featured last time here.* Anyway......
This year I picked this one. I called it Bricks and Mortar, it was from a pattern. Started in late July and finished in August 2008. I love it cause it was the first quilt I made for me. And I love it cause it took me two weeks from cutting to sewing the label on, the top took 24 hours to sew. I remember the joy of Grace being at school and Milly being at her only day of day care that year, popping Pride and Prejudice (the BBC version of course!) on the DVD player and just sewing, sewing, sewing!
The label says its for me, so I can't give it away!
I like how the business of the prints just speak for themselves.
Stipple with rainbow verigated thread.
And the back of pieced strips. As I write now the girls are snuggled under it on the couch watching morning TV. Might take advantage of the quiet and check out some of the quilts at Amy's festival. Great start to the day.

It's beautiful, Helen! I have no idea why you couldn't find your previous post, I found it easily in your April archive - but I see Diva Quilts has beaten me to it to leave you a link!

Love, love, love it!!
Love the quilt, and especially the label!
I love when a quiltmaker makes herself a quilt. I'm sure she keeps one for every 30 she gives away! Your quilt is beautiful! Lovely fabrics!!
I love this quilt. The pattern is perfect for those large prints. Stunning!!!!
beautiful fabric choice!
Wow! I love how you let the fabrics speak for themselves! They are featured so perfectly!
Love all those Val fabrics. I have quite a few of her stuff myself. Love the simple design and the pop of colors. Beautiful!
Great quilt. I love the colors and fabrics. It's the kind of quilt that makes me smile.
What a gorgeous, vibrant quilt! I love to quilt and watch/listen to Pride and Prejudice too!! I have seen it so many times that I don't need to be watching the tv every minute so quilting with it on is perfect. And it is nice and long so I can get hours upon hours of sewing it while it entertains me.
gorgeous! I love the fun and bright fabrics
Beautiful Quilt. Thanks for participating in the Blogger's Quilt Festival.

I agree, - the large prints really makes this quilt. I like your label :-) I would like to use that idea for myself one day.
great fabrics, beautiful happy quilt!
Those are two of my favorite fabrics! The Valori Wells flower stripe and the large floral you show by itself. The flower stripe is my daughter's "totem" fabric as it is on her baby quilt in blue/pink and in red/pink.
Love the fabrics you chose and enjoyed the memories of your making it!
Helen, I love to quilt and watch P&J (BBC) version! Love your quilt too!
Your bright, bold fabric prints are so great. Really makes this quilt say "WOW". Good for you for making one for yourself. Love how the label says so. Thanks for sharing.
