KQI Quilts Finished.

I have just realized while scrolling through the photos on the camera, that I never blogged photos taken back in mid June of the quilt I made for Sarah as part of our KQI Swap.

I made two. This one I made for Sarah. Front....

Back.....

And this one I kept for me.

Detail...

Quite like the back on this one.

A quilt from Kriszta.

Woweeee! My dolls quilt from Kriszta for our KQI Swap arrived today all the way from Budapest! It is absolutely stunning, I was speechless when opening the package except for the oh oh oh ohhhhhh's! The "rules" were roughly one house or log cabin block, one star block, colour of recipients choice and something 3D. See that little cute car above? Its a button, thats the 3D element! The photo's don't do this little quilt justice, the colours in real life are so soft. It is more a work of art than a dolls quilt.

Her detail is amazing. The swing on the tree, the verigated thread star.

The cobblestone quilting......

Here is the back. I took this one without the flash so the quilting could be easily seen.

And these sweet little wonky houses with their TV antenna's basking in the moonlight! I want to live in the pink house, imagine the view!

Thank you so much Kriszta, it is truelly beautiful. I love it! A great swap. Are we ready for the next round?

WIP Wednesday - Week 23 - Handsewing.

Lots of hand sewing going on it in this house at the moment. The weather is getting colder, we had 18 degrees celsius today! That is chilly enough for me! I'm finally sewing down the label for Sarah's quilt as part of the KQI Swap. Will hopefully be in the mail by the end of the week.

And I am doingthe binding on my Candy Stripes quilt. That should hopefully be in the mail by the end of the week as well. Notice how my needle is bent? I somehow poke it through so hard it has bent a bit. Cheap needle = thin metal I suppose.....

K.Q.I. Quilting.

Now the anticipation and excitment with the flickr Dolls Quilt Swap is over, well saying that I still have 4 ladies awaiting their quilts, so it's not really over yet. But I have turned my attention back to our little K.Q.I. swap and started the quilting.....

Hope it doesn't give too much away Sarah!

K.Q.I. Sneek Peak for Sarah

What do you do when one swap has finished? You start on the next! I posted my flickr quilt off today and got started on this....

Here's a sneek peak of something I am working on for Sarah. We are doing a little 4 way swap over the year between Lisa in New York and Kristza who lives in Budapest. With Sarah in Canada and myself in Australia, it's an international swap! It's looking good so far, making two this time.... We have some loose rules, is that a house I see in the top photo?
