EB Quilter Bee Blocks!
Its been slow sewing around here lately. Life is getting in the way of sitting down behind the machine! I have finally completed my blocks for the last two months of the EB Quilters Bee. I have realized that I am down for October, the last month, so I better start thinking about that I want the girls to sew for me! The whirlygigs are for Mands and the crosses are for Denni.Hope you like them ladies!

Super Sunday Sewing!

I have had an awesome day of sewing today! I have made a super early start and finish on my sewing blocks for the EB Quilters block swap. These squares are for Milly. She asked for scrappy multicoloured mitred squares and said the brighter the better as she was happy with "clown vomit" colours! These should certainly fit the trick then!
Then I got the stippling foot out andstippled this table runner. After learning from my recent mistakes, I sandwiched and pinned it properly! I love stippling, I should do it more often. So now I have two table runners to bind.

April Bee Blocks
I have been playing catch up with my bee blocks ths months. These are actually all for April! Opps! Sorry girls!
These log cabins are for Bec. She asked for log cabins in any way we choose. I went for two traditional blocks.
And then four smaller ones sewn together. Sorry they are late Bec, they are all packaged and ready to post tomorrow!
And these are for Flickr Bee FF 2012 swap. These little people are for Sudi-Laura.
She asked for a light neutral back ground and bold funky colors for the actual people and their clothes. One boy and one girl. Hope you like these Sudi-Laura. Yours are also packaged up and will be in the post tomorrow!

March Block Obligations Dusted!
I am finding I don't get much time to sew in the week. But I can stand at the sewing desk and cut. So this week I cut all these 2.5 inch squares for Ad's block for her round of the EB 2012 Quilting Bee. She requested Granny Squares.
They came together very quickly. It's going to look great when they are all put back together.
I also whipped up these two blocks for Karen. She wanted double four patch blocks for her 10 year old son. I dusted off the small seletion of brown, cream and black to sew these. Hope she likes them!

Stars, stars, stars!
I finished these on the weekend. It was a three day weekend, so I got a lot done! Wouldn't it be nice if every weekend was a long weekend?
So these stars are for AJ. After I completely stuffed up the first lot of material she gave me with these odd looking stars! These ones look much better, I am sure she will like these better!
She sent me enough for three blocks which was very nice of her!
And she inspired me to make this star block. It is the start of guess what? Another table runner! I'm using from the stash a Kona solid called Honey Dew and the prints are from a range called Filigree which I brought mid last year and have sat in the green drawer since then. It feels good to be using from the stash.

Maverick Stars for AJ
I have taken the dust cover off my sewing machine and actually sewed this morning!! It has been awhile...... Thought I would ease myself into it by sewing these two blocks for a sewing bee I am in. These are for AJ who requested Maverick Stars.
I love sewing stars! So now to turn my attention to the other bee which is being run by some flickr quilting buddies, I have to sew two baskets. I have had the fabric selected and sitting on the sewing desk here but the thought of cutting a handle on a curve is sending shivers of dread down my spine! Toughen up Helen, you can do this, you are late with this block already!
