DQS#9 Progress....

I've gone for the raw edge applique look for my quilt for DQS#9. I'm usually more a blanket stitch kind of girl when it comes to sewing down my applique but I'm giving this a try. I'm unsure if I really like the effect, it seems a bit messy? But then when I come back later I think no, looks ok.

It took me three whole episodes of Glee to sew all those loose threads in the back! And some swirly quilting, or rather a pebble with a swirl inside it. Giving some nice texture.

I'm more of a blanke stitch by machine girl too. I just worry how the raw edges will wash and wear over time.

This is gorgeous. And, well, if a project gives me an excuse to sit and watch Glee, well, whom am I to complain? ;)

lucky, lucky DSQ#9 recipient! You put so much thought and care into your quilts that i think perhaps you are quilting that emotion right in, and it shows!

Love this - I am also making the Aunt Millies Garden quilt but mine doesn't look as good as this....how depressing!
