Spikey Quilt Update.

Another quarter done of my Dolls Quilt Swap. Looks good hey?

Yes Helen, it looks fantastic until you put it with the half already done only to see that you totally stuffed up the color direction!!! It should have been green going around to yellow, orange and then red. D'oh!!!!

So I have folded it up and tossed it aside in frustration. That is what you get from sewing for 10 minutes here and 20 minutes there after work when you are tired. So I spent this afternoon laying it all out and numbering it so tomorrow being the start of the weekend, I can just sew it! Looking at this photo though, think I better add A to one quarter, B to the next etc, so I don't get them mixed up. Oh the confusion!

I love your colors! This is a great block.

I hate when that happens! Another thing that might help is a big box of crayons. Just a little scribble in the appropriate color on your foundation will give you something to match the fabric.
As for the mistake, think of it as an opportunity. You are 1/4 finished with a second spikey quilt - one that goes in the opposite direction!

If you hadn't said anything, I would have thought you did it on purpose.

You could turn the new quarter 90 degrees and make a serpentine instead of a circle.

This looks beautiful to me! I haven't ventured out into too difficult a quilt yet. I love these bold colors on the white!

Durnit! Hope the weekend brings it all right. I can relate!

Your idea of labeling it is good. You might want to put a line under the "6" and "9" to tell them apart, if they are in the same color family Never mind, I see that the #s repeat themselves. Is that why you will need the A B C etc for the quarters?

It sounds like something I would have done.
It will look stunning when you've finished it. The colours are so vibrant against the white.

You are too funny - I still think it looks fab! Maybe just embrace that your block has a different plan than you....

Well, you can look at the positive... you have a quarter of a second block already made! By the way, I love it!

Hi, I resently discovered your blog, and I love it! Thank you for nice stories and being real/not perfect! Perfectness is so overrated these days :-)

I love the colors of your blocks. This is simply your testrun for those patterns. Maybe you can replace the nasty white strip with a pieced strip, where you draw the angle/line from the following color and add a little piece of that colored fabric.

Greetings from Holland!
