DSQ#11 - The Doubts!

It is a good idea to do test blocks first isn't it? So then you can see how crap your idea is. How crap you are at lining up points even though its paper pieced and everything is supposed to line up for you?

And if you do three test blocks then you might get better as you go? Maybe?? Maybe not! These are appalling! Being so tiny their faults scream at you, look at me! I'm way out!! So back to the idea board I go.....

I use pins to put into the points on one side, and onto the otherside too, so when they sew they match, it looks if you take another 1/16th of an inch stitch, to pull in the seams, they should line up

So try to restitch the seams on those a hair or two in, and see the big difference it makes

Oops - accidentally posted with my work log-on! What I wanted to say was that I loved yesterday's picture, and was wondering how you were actually going to construct it. Hope you get it sorted, because the pattern's great!

Hey, trim your blocks girlfriend! You'll love them better when they are squared up :)

They're pretty though - and given the trouble you're having, I won't attempt them :)

paper piecing is just like any other piecing...often need pins to align seams :-))

I think you are being waaaay to critical of yourself. They look fantastic to me! AND, once you have them all together it will be gorgeous, just like everything else you do!!!

If you email me, I may be able to help you out -- you can use the Fold and Sew technique to make this much easier. At least the individual blocks.

I made the same one here, how small are your pieces? Maybe you need a smaller machine to help you out!
