No, I am not resting my coffee on the quilt! Would never do that! I’m using the bottom of the mug as a template circle for some swirly quilting. It was just the right size. I have done about 10 so far. Adds some interest. Slowly, slowly although I would like to finish it before the poor baby turns 1!
Am a bit jaded today as found out last night that BIL's wedding in Sydney has been called off. They are still planning to get married, just not in Sydney and not in October which means we won't be going over. Bummer!!!! Was so looking foward to meeting some of the sewing girls from EB. Maybe we'll have to convince Daz there is a sewing conference on and I am required to give a talk on rotary cutters!
Bugger! Poo! Bum! Wee!!! I want to go to Sydney!!!

Great solution for quilting pinwheels! I've got some pinwheels that I've been wondering how to quilt...since I know going through that little bit where are the triangles meet up would be an absolute nightmare! Your quilt looks great....
But Mr helen, there REALLY is a conference. And we need Helen to be our quilting expert and guest speaker. Let her come pretty please!
Oh and the pin wheels looks great, although I did gasp when I first saw the mug on such a gorgeous quilt.
I love the swirly circles -- adds some fun movement!
And yes -- there IS a conference in Sydney. You do have to speak. Really. :0)
I'm liking the swirly thing! What a great quilt!! I machine quilt on my machine too, so your picture of the quilt stuffed into your sewing machine made me laugh!! It just looked SO familiar to me. I am looking into renting a long arm at a local sewing shop for my next project... but I wonder if I would be really motivated to do it that way. Hmmm. I guess time will tell.
HI Helen....love the swirls...thinking about quilting for the log cabins...maybe something similar??
Don't go to Sydney...I know of a wedding on the sunshine coast you could come to...I'll invite you!!! I'm sure your expert advice will be needed there too...LOL
Love the little pinwheel quilt - The colors are striking!
I freaked out when I saw a coffee cup on your quilt! ~Whew... it's a template! Love your swirlies!
Thanks for visiting my blog... it lead me to yours and I love it!
PS.... I want to go to Sydney too! My DS and DIL live in NSW and I miss them so much!
